News Release
Dentatus, March 25,2003
We are pleased to inform the Dentatus website visitors of the following
important Transitional Implant information.
IMTEC has falsely claimed the priority of
having first used, designed and manufactured 1.8mm Titanium implants.
As part of this plan, Imtec and its Director, Victor Sendax, improperly
modified and reprinted an article from the January 1995 issue of
DENTISTRY TODAY, substituting the Sendax and Imtec names in place
of the Dentatus name in the article as originally written, making
it seem as if Sendax first developed the implant post;
the thin implant post was actually first
conceived, designed and manufactured by Dentatus.
Sendax, in fact, used the Dentatus posts when he first carried out
the implant procedure. This counterfeit article was withdrawn by
Imtec after they received strongly worded challenges from Dentatus.
Imtec also withdrew another libelous article which falsely
claimed that Sendax and IMTEC had caused the "elimination"
of U.S. Patent No. 5,575,651, issued to Bernard Weissman, and licensed
to Dentatus, as well as making other misleading
assertions and falsehoods, challenged by Dentatus.
Dentatus has received written assurances,
from the President of Imtec, that IMTEC officers and all employees
will abstain from making such misleading assertions in the future.
Having disposed of the above, we take this occasion to state
the factual information which is as follows: the MTI Transitional
Implant specifications and materials are based on the original Dentatus
AB design as mfg. specifications by Dentatus, AB Sweden since 1935.
The pure Ti Anchors, were introduced by Dentatus in early 1970.
The thin Dentatus Ti Anchors were used as Transitional Anchors since
1976 for repairs and support of failing abutments as well as for
selective replacement of missing teeth.
Dentatus USA, Ltd. was the first to obtain
FDA approval for Transitional Implants based on certified affidavits
from dentists in Sweden and the USA, showing its pre-statute
use and sale in the USA. The Dentatus original MTI Transitional
Implant Prosthetic System is manufactured in accordance with the
valid Weissman issued patent #5,788,492, issued in 1998, and is
intended to be supported by the MTI Ti Anchor.
MTI Transitional Implants enjoy great popularity and highest professional
approval for use in immediately replacing patient's missing teeth,
for orthodontic treatment, and repairs to, and replacement of, failing
abutments.
